Lenten Study & Confirmation

During Lent 2006 the Rector will offer An Introduction to the Episcopal Tradition. The class will meet on Monday evenings for six sessions beginning February 27, 2006 from 6.30 p.m. until about 8.30 p.m. A soup and bread supper will start each session.

An Introduction to the Episcopal Tradition is an excellent way to prepare for confirmation in the Episcopal Church or simply to become more informed about the our church. If you would like to be confirmed or are new to Old St. Andrew’s and would like to learn more about the Episcopal Church, this is a great opportunity for you. The course begins with Biblical history and a discussion of “Who is Jesus?” We trace the history of the church, take a close look at the Reformation and the formation of the Anglican Church, and study how the Episcopal Church came to be. In parallel to the historical investigations is a study of scripture and the Book of Common Prayer. We also discuss what it means to be an adult member of a church.
