Music Staff at Old St. Andrew's ...

Soprano Lisabeth Miller is our Musical Director. Appointed in 2010, Liz has transformed the choir into one of the very best church groups in Connecticut.
Since 2002, Liz has graced us with her wonderful voice as well has her stellar sense of humor. Liz brings energy and great musical skill to our parish and we are fortunate to have her with us.
A classically trained soprano, Liz made her professional opera debut in 2009 as Suor Dolcina in Opera Theater of Connecticut's production of Suor Angelica. She performed the title role in Handel's Alcina, and sang excerpts as Konstanze (The Abduction from the Seraglio) and Valentine (Les Hugenots) with Hillhouse Opera in New Haven. Liz is a company member of Hartford Opera Theater, where she sang the roles of the Widow Douglas and Dobbins in the world premiere of Phillip Martin's Tom Sawyer which was performed at the Mark Twain House in the spring of 2010. Liz was the featured soloist with the Nutmeg Symphonic Pops orchestra for all of their 2009 and 2010 concerts and performed excerpts from La Boheme, Madama Butterfly, and Le Nozze di Figaro under the baton of Maestro Dino Ciaburri. She was also a finalist in both the 2007 and 2009 Amici Vocal Competitions. Liz is an alumna of several prestigious young artist programs including those at Opera New Jersey, OperaWorks, and the International Institute of Vocal Arts in Chiari, Italy.
Equally at home on the concert stage, Liz has been the soprano soloist for many area Messiahs and has been honored to perform works by local composers, some written specifically for her, including Nolan Stolz and Edward Knoeckel. Liz has been a member of the CONCORA roster since 2009 and has been selected to perform solos with that group as well. She holds a master's degree in voice performance from the Hartt School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Brandeis University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Connecticut.
