New news (3.4.10): HARTFORD COURANT
Welcome to the Old St. Andrew's ~ École le Bon Samaritain website for rebuilding our School in the Waney neighborhood of Carrefour, Haiti.
The clinic in Carrefour is currently working at reduced capacity. We have a single Haitian nurse who is providing care. When Team 6 failed to materialize, we needed to change reduce services. We could not continue as we had been. This decision was not taken lightly. We started the clinic in a dire emergency. We had an incredible impact. The situation has evolved and our response has needed to change accordingly.
Dr. David Reed is putting together a permanent clinic planning group consisting of Dr. Patty Jorquera (Team 2 pediatrician), Ann Giuli (Stamford Hospital nurse), Reine Boyer (United Haitian American Society), Pam Koprowski (Stamford Hospital), Joanne Kimball (Healthcare communications expert), Gus Schlegel (Supply & Logistics Coordinator), Danelie Millien (Ambassador-at-Large), and myself.
We will be patiently persistent in continuing to care for the people of Carrefour, especially the children. I ask your understanding, continued support, and patience as well. Please keep your faith and continue to do the incredibly good work you have been doing.

Donating supplies. Many people have asked how & where to donate supplies. The greatest need right now is for family-sized tents. We continue to collect them and are working to establish a supply line to Carrefour so they can be distributed from the school.

Volunteering. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our Volunteers' Page. Although we are not sending volunteer teams down right now, we want to add you to our list so we can contact you when we need your services.
Our greatest need is for financial support. As we make plans for a permanent clinic and to rebuild the school, we will need thousands of dollars in donations and contributions. We will raise these funds because we are called to respond with compassion in every way possible. Please consider making a gift. All funds go directly to the needed projects. Your thoughtful generosity is deeply appreciate by the children of Waney, Carrefour, Haiti. "Just as you do it to the least of these, you do it to me."
Tax exempt donations may be sent to the address below. Please put Haiti or EBS on the memo line.

Our plans have three distinct goals.
1. Provide immediate medical relief and support to the community by setting up a clinic and feeding our children and others at EBS.
2. Assess the damage to the School; make the necessary repairs or rebuild to include a permanent clinic.
3. Recover our students and reopen the School and clinic.
